Part 7: Closing Process

Here's what's happening as we get closer to closing day.

New Home Orientation & Customer Care Handoff:

The Project Manager meets with the buyer a couple of weeks before closing to walk through closing day expectations and warranty information, outline the final list of items to be completed and explain various parts of homeownership. This is also when the Project Manager introduces Customer Care as their post-close partner.

VFU:

This meeting between the buyer and the Project Manager typically happens the day of or before the home closes. At this point, the home should be 100% complete (minus seasonal items). The home is clean and read for them to move in! The Project Manager will present the closing gift to the buyer at this time.

Closing:

The buyer will work with our Community Manager, their agent (if applicable), lender and title company to sign all the necessary documents to close. Typically, the home will fun within a few hours, allowing us to move on to the key presentation. During this time. the Project Manager is in close communication with the buyer, and our closing coordinator is waiting for the funding alert.

Key Presentation:

If possible, and it works with the buyer's timing, the Project Manager and Community Manager should meet the buyer at their home and present their new keys. Capture a photo or video and share it with the marketing team.
